Utilitas Wind starts construction of 124 MW wind farm in Lithuania

Utilitas Wind and Latvenergo signed an agreement to build a 124 MW wind farm in Telšiai county, Lithuania.

The wind park will consist of 20 modern wind turbines with a capacity of 6,2 MW each, which will be supplied, installed, and maintained by the leading wind turbine manufacturer Vestas. The preparation of construction works has already started and the construction of the connection, access roads, cabling, turbine foundations and assembly area will be performed by Merko statyba UAB. The expected annual production of the Telšiai wind farm is 420 GWh, which covers the annual electricity consumption of more than 125,000 households.

Utilitas Wind and Latvenergo also signed a development service agreement by which Utilitas Wind will manage the construction of the wind farm. After completion the wind farm will be  operated by Latvenergo who has also acquired the project company.
