Utilitas received the “Supporter of National Defence” Silver-level recognition

Utilitas received the “Supporter of National Defence” Silver-level recognition for the first time. The award was presented at a ceremonial event held at the Estonian Ministry of Defence on 15 June.

“As a provider of critical services, our daily work at Utilitas is focused on safeguarding the country’s defence capability by ensuring the security and reliability of essential infrastructure and reducing dependence on foreign energy sources to a minimum. At the same time, we are pleased that many enthusiastic reservists are part of our team, maintaining their readiness through participation in military training exercises, and we strive to support them in every possible way,” said Priit Koit, CEO of the Utilitas Group.

The purpose of the “Supporter of National Defence” recognition is to acknowledge employers who enable their employees to fulfil national defence obligations without experiencing a significant loss of income, while also contributing more broadly to strengthening Estonia’s willingness and capability to defend itself.

Employers receiving the recognition support their employees’ participation in reserve service by maintaining their income during military training exercises and contribute to Estonia’s national defence in various other ways.

This year marked the fourth consecutive year that the recognition has been awarded. A total of 700 candidates were nominated, with 10 Gold, 100 Silver and 417 Bronze-level recognitions granted. Utilitas previously received the Bronze-level recognition in 2024.
