Connecting Europe Facility supports the construction of the Lode-Penuja wind farm

Lode-Penuja wind farm received additional funding from the support measure for cross-border renewable energy projects announced by CEF Energy in 2024.

The joint project of Estonia and Latvia received support for the construction activities of the wind farm.

In order to implement projects promoting the production and transmission of renewable electricity between countries, the Connecting Europe Facility (CEF) has been developed at the European Union level, one of the sub-programmes of which is CB RES (Cross-Border Renewable Energy). To apply for funding support, a project must be based on renewable energy production and an agreement between two or more Member States.

Planned total capacity of the Lode-Penuja onshore wind farm is 200 MW and it will significantly contribute to the growth of wind power production capacities in both countries.
